Distinguished Gents

​

Distinguished Gents sessions take place on Tuesdays throughout the school year.

​

The Distinguish Gents is a youth mentoring program that has been established to teach and build young men into becoming prominent individuals in their environment, communities and schools.  We will do this by teaching exemplary various charter traits.  Our lesson includes, but is limited to, the following character traits: 

• Positive Attitude   

• Respect 

• Integrity 

• Honesty 

• Gratefulness 

• Compassion 

• Responsibility 

• Self-Control 

• Courage 

• Perseverance 

 

 

Objectives

The objective of group is to assist in the decrease of disciplinary problems and other challenges that faces young males in the home, at school and in the community.  In addition, this group will be given the tools need to prevent drug use and/or abuse that is on the rise in the life of our young people.  The program will increase the confidence level of each young man so that they can become productive leaders and citizens in our communities and society.

Age requirements

The Distinguished Gents members can be between seven-17 years of age.

Young Ladies of Distinction

Young Ladies of Distinction sessions take place on Thursdays throughout the school year.

​

Mission Statement 

Akron UMADAOP, Inc.'s Young Ladies of Distinction provides prevention and empowerment to young women by building their self-esteem and enhancing their abilities to make positive life choices to become resilient, responsible, and successful. 

​

Purpose 

Young Ladies of Distinction was created to assist in the positive personal development of young women through life skills education and self-empowerment. 

 

Objectives 

• Increased self-awareness, self-esteem and self-acceptance 

• Healthier body image  

• Remaining alcohol, tobacco and other drug free and increased commitment to personal health 

• More effective communication skills and healthier relationships with friends and family 

• Improved decision-making skills 

 

Age Requirements 
Young Ladies of Distinction members can be between the ages of seven-17.
